Manufacturing Engineer (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Design and deliver tooling, jigs, and fixtures for aircraft assembly and fabrication.
• Program and machine custom tooling components using CAM software, vertical mills, routers, and multi-axis CNC equipment.
• Rapidly prototype manufacturing solutions for evolving aircraft designs and assembly sequences.
• Conduct first article inspections, dimensional validation, and metrology checks to verify design intent.
• Collaborate with design engineers on DFM feedback and improve part manufacturability.
• Document assembly procedures, tooling guidelines, and production-floor improvements.

Requirements

• Proficiency with CAD software such as Fusion, SolidWorks, CATIA, NX, or similar.
• Hands-on CAM programming experience and the ability to machine parts on vertical mills and multi-axis CNC equipment.
• Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerancing, metrology equipment, and inspection techniques.
• Knowledge of composite materials and manufacturing processes including layup, bonding, trimming, and drilling.
• Understanding of design for manufacturing principles and the ability to solve problems independently in a fast-moving team.
• Ability to balance production speed with precision and critical tolerances.

Nice to have

• Experience with Fusion 360, Haas vertical mills, gantry-style CNC routers, or 4th/5th-axis CAM programming.
• Hands-on composite layup or trimming experience.
• Welding experience for fixture fabrication.
• Experience with FDM for rapid tooling prototypes.
