Manager, Project Accounting

Location: Falls Church, Virginia, United States

Salary: $95,000–$140,000 per year, plus performance-based bonuses and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead Associates and Senior Associates responsible for business-unit financials.
• Report revenue, profit, cash flow, forecasts, risks, and overall project accounting health.
• Prepare, distribute, and maintain project-related financial reports and analyze business-unit data.
• Assess and improve project accounting systems, manual processes, policies, and internal controls.
• Serve as the lead point of contact for internal audits and support internal and external auditors.
• Plan departmental workload and capacity, make staffing recommendations, and train and mentor accounting staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business with strong accounting experience preferred.
• Five to eight years of accounting experience.
• Experience with JD Edwards or a comparable ERP solution, including business intelligence tools.
• Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost control, and GAAP.
• Ability to manage projects from concept through implementation and communicate effectively in writing, verbally, and in public presentations.
• Ability to lead, mentor, influence change, and maintain productive working relationships; ability to lift boxes weighing up to 30 pounds.
