What you will do

• Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and subject matter expertise to technologists and department management.
• Establish work priorities, delegate activities, and support scheduling, training, competency, and minor conflict resolution.
• Oversee laboratory operations, including supplies, ordering, workspace maintenance, and adherence to procedures.
• Coordinate service issue resolution with laboratory management, staff, clients, and internal departments.
• Support proficiency and competency programs, audits, employee performance input, and corrective actions.
• Communicate operational problems and help implement process improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology, from an accredited institution.
• Appropriate state license for clinical laboratory testing if required in the laboratory’s state.
• Experience meeting at least Technologist II criteria.
• Knowledge of laboratory testing principles, methods, materials, equipment, techniques, and applicable regulations.
• Ability to instruct staff, delegate tasks, follow prescribed procedures, and apply analytical thinking.
• Compliance with hazardous-material handling, safety, and exposure procedures is required.
