Lab Technician

Location: On-site in Woodbury, Minnesota, USA. Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.

Compensation: $25.00–$28.00 per hour.

What you will do

• Obtain and process biological specimens for laboratory analysis according to established procedures.
• Operate, learn, and maintain automated analytical equipment under laboratory director protocols.
• Identify factors affecting analytical measurements, equipment malfunctions, and failures, taking appropriate corrective action.
• Perform scheduled maintenance on laboratory equipment and maintain the required documentation.
• Record refrigerator and freezer temperatures and file laboratory records in accordance with state and CLIA requirements.
• Follow laboratory safety procedures, attend trainings and meetings, and support assigned community and public relations activities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• First Aid and CPR certification.
• Two to three years of related experience, including experience in the chemical dependency treatment field, or equivalent education and experience.
• Knowledge of Rule 245G and applicable Minnesota human services, maltreatment, and vulnerable adult regulations.
• At least one year of continuing freedom from chemical use problems and ongoing cultural awareness training.
• Ability to work independently, lift at least 25 pounds, communicate with diverse populations, manage changing priorities, and use computers for emails, memos, and reports.
