Laboratory Services Supervisor (Medical Technology): Supervising laboratory operations and testing at a moderate- or high-complexity oncology facility with an accent on quality systems, regulatory compliance, personnel management, and test-method validation. Focus on ensuring accurate patient results, maintaining compliant procedures, evaluating equipment and reagents, and managing laboratory resources and costs.

Location: The Woodlands, Texas, United States. Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.; no weekends, on-call shifts, or major holidays. Frequent travel by air or automobile is required, approximately 70% of the workweek.

What you will do

  • Supervise daily laboratory testing, reporting, personnel scheduling, training, and performance evaluation.
  • Perform routine testing and develop capability with more complex laboratory procedures.
  • Establish and monitor quality assurance, quality control, proficiency testing, maintenance, and safety procedures.
  • Select, validate, and document test methods; write new procedures and maintain the laboratory manual.
  • Review patient results and laboratory records, ensuring corrective actions are completed before results are released.
  • Manage supplies, equipment evaluations, cost analysis, pricing recommendations, budgeting, and coordination with nursing and administrative teams.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Medical Technology or a related science field; a bachelor's degree in Medical Technology is preferred.
  • At least five years of laboratory testing experience.
  • Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
  • ASCP or equivalent certification is required.
  • Current state licensure is required where applicable, along with compliance with laboratory, OSHA, safety, and labor regulations.
  • Ability to perform work requiring extended sitting or standing, manual dexterity, normal corrected vision, color perception and hearing, and occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds.
