Associate Microbiologist

Location: Onsite in Madison, WI, USA; candidates must reside within a commutable distance to Madison.

hirify.global Food Chemistry Madison operates an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory testing infant formula, nutrition products, hemp and CBD, dietary supplements, botanicals, and other food-related samples.

What you will do

• Prepare routine sample composites, initial dilutions, enrichments, and plating for quantification.
• Prepare microbiology media, perform transfers, and operate autoclaves.
• Use aseptic handling procedures and complete quality-control documentation.
• Support instrumentation, diagnostics, reporting, and project work with guidance.
• Perform equipment and work-area cleaning, quality checks, and laboratory recordkeeping.
• Plan daily workloads, maintain laboratory safety, and contribute to a cohesive team environment.

Requirements

• Four-year applicable degree, or a combination of relevant experience and an associate degree.
• Relevant experience is preferred.
• Ability to learn new tasks and solve problems critically and efficiently.
• Must reside within a commutable distance to Madison, WI.
• Ability to use PPE, handle potential food allergens, stand or sit for extended periods, and lift up to 40 lbs.
