Deputy Program Manager/Chief Infrastructure Engineer (Enterprise Infrastructure)

Location: Adelphi, Maryland, USA; non-remote/on-site only. Relocation assistance is available.

Salary: $135,000–$175,000 yearly

What you will do

• Advise program management and Government leadership on enterprise infrastructure, operations, cybersecurity, and modernization.
• Lead engineering across Windows and Linux servers, Nutanix infrastructure, virtualization, storage, networking, identity services, and hybrid cloud environments.
• Review architectures, assess engineering solutions, and develop secure, scalable, resilient modernization roadmaps.
• Oversee Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, PKI, authentication, endpoint management, monitoring, and infrastructure lifecycle activities.
• Lead complex troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, disaster recovery, capacity planning, automation, and operational efficiency initiatives.
• Mentor infrastructure personnel, lead technical working groups, manage technical risks, and communicate recommendations to senior stakeholders.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and an active Secret clearance or ability to obtain and maintain one.
• On-site work in Adelphi, Maryland is required.
• IAT Level II certification or higher under DoD 8570/8140, such as Security+ CE, SecurityX, GICSP, GSEC, or SSCP.
• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 12+ years of progressive experience supporting, engineering, administering, and leading enterprise IT infrastructure in large-scale DoD, Federal, research, or similarly complex environments.
• Experience with Windows and Linux servers, Active Directory, Nutanix AHV or comparable virtualization platforms, storage, networking, endpoint management, monitoring, and infrastructure supporting 1,000+ users.

Nice to have

• Experience as an infrastructure architect, chief infrastructure engineer, technical director, chief systems engineer, or similar technical leader.
• Experience with classified and unclassified networks, research computing, laboratory environments, or infrastructure modernization.
• Advanced certifications such as PMP, CISSP, CCSP, Nutanix, Microsoft, Azure, AWS, CCNP, or ITIL.
• Experience leading infrastructure engineering teams and communicating recommendations to senior Government and contractor leadership.
