Piping Engineer-in-Training (Mechanical Engineering)

Location: Vancouver, BC, Canada office; willingness to work in other offices and project sites, including remote sites, is required

Salary: CAD 81,000–84,000 per year, plus potential performance-based incentives and benefits.

What you will do

• Perform calculations for mechanical equipment design and piping systems in industrial buildings and processes.
• Prepare equipment specification packages, construction work packages, and piping calculation reports for review by senior engineers.
• Learn and apply mechanical equipment, piping systems, analytical software, CAD tools, specifications, and discipline workflows.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and other groups to support engineering documentation and project delivery.
• Complete field verification and provide support during construction.
• Participate in office and site safety training and inductions.

Requirements

• Must be graduating in 2027 or recently graduated with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong understanding of engineering and business fundamentals, with academic knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, machine design, or solid mechanics.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organization, attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to learn quickly, work independently and collaboratively, and adapt to change.
• Willingness and ability to travel and work in other hirify.global offices or project sites as required.

Nice to have

• Previous co-op, summer work-term, internship, or other relevant Mechanical or Piping Engineering experience.
• Experience with AFT Fathom, Ansys, Sidewinder, MathCAD, or Bentley MicroStation CAD.
