Piping Engineering Trainee (Mechanical Engineering)

Location: Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, with work from the Mississauga office and potential assignments in other offices and project job sites, including remote sites.

Salary: CAD 81,000–84,000 per year, plus potential performance-based incentives and benefits.

What you will do

• Apply engineering principles to mechanical equipment design and piping system calculations for industrial buildings and processes.
• Prepare equipment specification packages, construction work packages, and piping calculation reports for review by senior engineers.
• Learn and apply mechanical equipment, piping systems, analytical software, technical specifications, and discipline workflows.
• Collaborate with senior discipline members and other groups to communicate engineering results and support project documentation.
• Perform field verification and provide engineering support during construction.
• Complete office and site safety training and travel to other offices or project sites as project needs arise.

Requirements

• Must be graduating in 2027 or have recently graduated with a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Strong academic performance and involvement in extracurricular or volunteer activities.
• Knowledge of engineering and business fundamentals, with strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to learn quickly, work independently and collaboratively, adapt to change, and take on new challenges.
• Willingness and ability to travel and work in hirify.global offices or project sites, including remote sites.

Nice to have

• Relevant co-op, summer work-term, or internship experience in mechanical or piping engineering.
• Academic or work experience with AFT Fathom, Ansys, Sidewinder, MathCAD, or Bentley MicroStation CAD.
• Coursework in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, machine design, and solid mechanics.
