Junior Drilling Engineer (Petroleum Engineering)

Location: Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, or Calgary, Alberta, Canada; travel typically 10–20% of the time for project activities

What you will do

• Support senior engineers and project managers with the planning, coordination, and execution of drilling projects.
• Assist with drilling programs, technical specifications, work plans, schedules, cost estimates, and project documentation.
• Monitor drilling activities, field operations, site investigations, project progress, and operational challenges.
• Collect, organize, review, and maintain field data, records, and technical documentation.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and client deliverables.
• Build technical expertise in exploration drilling, solution mining, geothermal energy systems, and disposal wells.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Geological Engineering, Mining Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 0–3 years of relevant experience in drilling, mining, energy, geotechnical, or subsurface engineering.
• Basic understanding of drilling operations, data analysis, and engineering principles.
• Engineer-in-Training designation preferred or the ability to obtain it.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Interest in professional development and pursuing professional engineering licensure.

Nice to have

• Experience with technical reporting, cost tracking, or field data management.
• Internship, co-op, or related field experience.
