Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Engineer

What you will do

• Provide engineering support for low- and medium-voltage electrical distribution systems up to 34.5 kV, including switchgear, motor control centers, transformers, and protective relays.
• Support instrumentation and control systems, including transmitters, analyzers, gas detection, and safety instrumented systems.
• Investigate equipment issues, perform troubleshooting, testing, commissioning, and repair support to improve plant reliability.
• Develop E&I scopes, specify instrumentation and control valves, and provide technical input for capital and maintenance projects from concept through startup.
• Prepare and review designs, specifications, equipment data sheets, construction packages, cost estimates, and engineering deliverables.
• Maintain electrical and instrumentation documentation and support design reviews, turnarounds, shutdowns, PHAs, LOPAs, and incident investigations.

Requirements

• B.S. in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution; Electrical Engineering is preferred.
• At least three years of hands-on, in-plant experience and at least five years of engineering experience in oil, gas, or chemical manufacturing.
• Working knowledge of electrical power distribution, instrumentation, and control systems.
• Experience reading and modifying electrical drawings, P&IDs, and technical specifications; familiarity with DCS, PLC, and IEC 61511 SIS concepts.
• Strong communication, leadership, independent decision-making, prioritization, and Microsoft Office skills.
• Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) and remain drug- and alcohol-free, including during random and for-cause testing.

• Experience executing electrical and instrumentation capital projects.
• Experience serving as an E&I discipline lead.
