Software Engineer II (Healthcare Software)

Location: Brisbane, Australia; primarily office-based with a hybrid working environment

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and maintain web applications and backend services using .NET/C#, Vue.js, TypeScript, and Python.
• Develop and enhance microservices and REST APIs within a cloud-native architecture.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Quality Assurance, UX, and engineering teams in an Agile environment.
• Investigate software defects, performance issues, and production incidents, and contribute to reliable releases.
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, technical design, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
• Support CI/CD pipelines, deployment activities, automation, and ongoing platform improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Commercial software development experience or equivalent internship or university project experience.
• Understanding of object-oriented programming and web application development fundamentals.
• Exposure to C#, .NET, Java, Python, JavaScript, or similar modern programming languages.
• Familiarity with Git, strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and effective communication.
• Willingness to learn, collaborate, and work in an Agile software development environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with .NET and C#, Vue.js, React, Angular, or another modern frontend framework.
• Exposure to TypeScript, REST APIs, service-oriented or microservices architectures, and cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
• Knowledge of relational databases, SQL, Docker, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Personal, academic, or open-source software project experience.
• Interest in healthcare technology and solutions that improve customer outcomes.
