Software Engineer (PropTech)

What you will do

• Build and improve full-stack web products for residential property listings and advertising.
• Collaborate with Principal Engineers, Staff Engineers, Engineering Managers, and distributed engineering teams on technical design and delivery planning.
• Evaluate technology options, effort, quality, and technical risks to support product decisions.
• Design and develop cloud-based systems using services such as AWS EC2, Lambda, SNS, SQS, and S3.
• Contribute to continuous improvement across products, technology, engineering processes, and team development.
• Develop skills through continual learning, experimentation, and evaluation.

Requirements

• Mid-level experience building full-stack web products.
• Experience designing and building systems with cloud technologies, including AWS services and basic networking.
• Experience with at least two programming languages, such as TypeScript, React, Kotlin, or Java.
• Knowledge of functional programming, object-oriented programming, test-driven development, and CI/CD.
• Experience in agile environments and the systems development life cycle.
• Ability to work effectively through pair programming and independently, while collaborating with teams and stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with functional programming and daily pair programming.
• Experience designing microservices and distributed systems, including REST APIs, GraphQL, queue-based or event-driven architectures with Kafka or SQS.
• Experience building data pipelines with Airflow Breeze, Google BigQuery, and relational databases.
• Experience working in distributed teams and delivering solutions within changing constraints and tight deadlines.
