What you will do
- Lead manufacturing process development for photonic products from prototypes and engineering builds through NPI qualification and volume production.
- Develop and optimize active and passive optical alignment, optical coupling, epoxy dispensing, curing, and related assembly processes.
- Define process parameters, critical-to-quality characteristics, process windows, acceptance criteria, and manufacturing specifications.
- Plan and execute DOE, process characterization, tolerance studies, process capability analysis, and process optimization.
- Support EVT, DVT, PVT, pilot, qualification, and production ramp builds while improving yield, cycle time, process simplicity, and cost.
- Lead root-cause analysis, manufacturing transfer, equipment qualification, process documentation, and production process control implementation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Physics, Optics, Photonics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience with optical active alignment for transceivers or related photonic devices, NPI, or process development.
- Hands-on experience with active alignment equipment, motion stages, controllers, optical power meters, laser sources, cameras, sensors, and precision mechanical systems.
- Experience with alignment algorithms, automated alignment sequences, equipment control, automation, fixture and tooling development, and process parameter optimization.
- Knowledge of epoxy dispensing, adhesive bonding, UV and thermal curing, and optical components such as FAUs, lenses, isolators, PICs, photodiodes, and lasers.
- Experience with DOE, statistical process control, Cp/Cpk, GR&R, yield analysis, PFMEA, Control Plans, SOPs, work instructions, qualification documentation, and manufacturing transfer.
