Backend Engineer (Golang)

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; hybrid workplace

What you will do

• Build, maintain, design, and implement backend microservices and Golang services.
• Work closely with product managers and engineers to deliver backend solutions and product features.
• Resolve defects permanently while reducing technical debt.
• Improve backend architecture for robustness, security, and performance.
• Use APIs to integrate with external platforms.
• Contribute to automated testing and increase test coverage.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of commercial backend software development experience.
• Server-side development experience, preferably with Golang, including maintainable and testable code with unit tests.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, preferably Elasticsearch and Cassandra.
• Comfort working in a Linux environment and with AWS features and tools.
• Product mindset and experience collaborating with product managers and engineers.
• Pragmatic approach to engineering trade-offs, strong attention to detail, self-motivation, and willingness to learn.
