TL;DR
Senior Software Engineer, Backend (Golang/Scala): Developing and maintaining high-throughput backend services and APIs for real-time distributed fulfilment systems with an accent on reliability, scalability, database performance, and cloud deployment. Focus on optimizing MySQL and Presto queries, profiling bottlenecks, building CI/CD pipelines, and implementing automated testing for large-scale services.
Location: Onsite in the Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia office

What you will do
- Develop and maintain reliable, scalable backend services and APIs for high-throughput, real-time distributed systems.
- Write efficient MySQL and Presto queries, profile systems, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and optimize performance.
- Contribute to cloud-based projects on AWS, GCP, or Azure and support deployments through CI/CD pipelines.
- Build and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end automated tests.
- Develop services in Golang and Scala, with exposure to distributed computing frameworks such as Apache Flink.
- Collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams, with opportunities to lead a small engineering team.
Requirements
- More than 4 years of backend development experience.
- Experience with large-scale distributed web or API services, systems internals, and networking.
- Hands-on experience with databases and query languages such as MySQL or Presto.
- Strong understanding of system performance, including profiling and resolving bottlenecks.
- Experience with cloud platforms, testing frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with any programming language and willingness to work with Golang and Scala for Flink-based systems.
