Software Engineer, Backend (AI): Building and maintaining services, integrations, automations, and internal platforms for AI-first enterprise applications with an accent on APIs, event contracts, identity, permissions, testing, and observability. Focus on designing secure and reliable systems, building reusable foundations for agentic applications, and supporting production delivery, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
Location: Onsite in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia

What you will do
- Build and maintain features, services, integrations, and automations for internal enterprise applications and platforms.
- Develop reusable foundations for agentic applications, including APIs, event contracts, data access, identity, permissions, auditability, and human escalation paths.
- Build prototypes and production code to validate ideas, resolve technical uncertainty, and accelerate delivery.
- Apply automated testing, evaluation, observability, security controls, and operational guardrails throughout the development lifecycle.
- Participate in technical design discussions and code reviews while writing readable, maintainable, and well-tested code.
- Support production delivery, monitoring, incident investigation, documentation, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Experience developing and testing production software with at least one modern programming language.
- Understanding of APIs, databases, software design fundamentals, and system dependencies.
- Experience writing automated tests and applying software quality practices.
- Ability to investigate issues, read logs, improve monitoring, and support production systems.
- Experience using agentic engineering tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or Codex, and applying emerging technologies to improve productivity and workflows.
Nice to have
- Experience with workflow automation, service management, or enterprise applications.
- Experience building AI-enabled features or working with MCP and similar system connectors.
- Experience with cloud services, CI/CD, observability, or production support.
- Experience working on internal tools or products used by multiple teams.
