TL;DR

Engineering Manager (Java) (Marketplace/AI): Building and scaling Mirakl Connect, an AI-powered central hub for marketplace sellers, with an accent on Java architecture, microservices, and team leadership. Focus on coordinating cross-functional delivery, resolving technical challenges, mentoring developers, and adopting AI in products and internal practices.

Location: Based in the Paris or Bordeaux office with one day of remote work per week

What you will do

Own user stories and contribute to system design, Java development, testing, code reviews, and production deployments.
Develop roadmaps with R&D and coordinate priorities with technical leads, product, and design teams.
Manage and mentor 4–5 developers across the Paris and Bordeaux locations.
Support onboarding, recruitment, performance reviews, clean code, testing, and pair programming practices.
Resolve technical blockers, make architecture and delivery decisions, and ensure reliable execution.
Contribute to the adoption of AI in hirify.global Connect and internal engineering practices.

Requirements

At least 5 years of Java development experience with recent versions.
At least 2 years in a team lead or comparable management role mentoring developers.
Experience balancing hands-on technical contribution with people management.
Experience delivering complex projects in a microservices environment.
Professional proficiency in English.
Knowledge of Java architecture, Spring Framework, SQL, cloud platforms, microservices, clean code, and engineering best practices.

Hiring process

30–45-minute recruitment call covering key projects, technical questions, and the position.
45-minute technical interview with an experienced developer, followed by a one-hour business discussion with the Senior Engineering Manager.
Two 45-minute STAR interviews focused on company values and stakeholder alignment.
