Engineering Manager (Java)

What you will do

• Lead and develop an engineering team delivering secure, reliable, high-quality software solutions.
• Prioritise, plan, and oversee delivery activities to achieve predictable outcomes.
• Design and build scalable, maintainable software while remaining hands-on.
• Coach and mentor engineers through feedback and structured development plans.
• Embed quality, testing, security, operational readiness, and observability practices.
• Manage incident response, technical debt, delivery metrics, and collaboration with product, architecture, and business stakeholders.

Requirements

• Significant hands-on Java engineering experience, including building and operating Spring Boot microservices.
• Strong knowledge of modern software architecture, domain-driven design, and event-driven design.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams and developing people through coaching and mentoring.
• Excellent knowledge of test-driven development, quality engineering, and automated testing.
• Experience with CI/CD, modern version control workflows, and software delivery pipelines.
• Strong understanding of secure software development, operational readiness, observability, and stakeholder management.
