TL;DR
Software Engineer (Java/Scala) (Adtech): Building and evolving high-load SSP, Adserver, and Exchange products that process hundreds of thousands of requests per second and run real-time auctions, with an accent on Scala, Java, and microservices. Focus on migrating core platform components from Scala to Java, designing highly available services, and troubleshooting application, technology, and infrastructure issues.
Location: Kraków, Lesser Poland Voivodeship, Poland; hybrid schedule with on-site work and one month of work-from-anywhere

What you will do
- Design, implement, and test features across SSP, Adserver, and Exchange products.
- Drive migration of core platform components from Scala to Java.
- Build and maintain microservices for high-capacity, high-traffic, high-availability systems.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and Operations to ship enhancements and resolve issues.
- Lead technical discussions, propose product and process improvements, and troubleshoot issues across the application, technologies, and infrastructure.
- Use AI development tools to improve the product development process and developer productivity.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- At least 1 year of Scala programming experience.
- At least 2 years of Java programming experience.
- At least 6 years of software engineering experience.
- Experience designing and implementing microservices in high-capacity, high-traffic, high-availability systems using Agile practices.
Nice to have
- Advertising technology experience.
- Python and NoSQL database experience, including MongoDB, Bigtable, or Aerospike.
- Experience with distributed messaging services such as Kafka or PubSub.
- Data engineering, cloud infrastructure management with AWS or GCP, and Git or Bitbucket familiarity.
