Construction Manager, Maintenance Facilities (Transportation Infrastructure)

Location: Newark, New Jersey, United States; primarily on-site at project sites throughout the Northeastern United States

Salary: $153,600–$230,400 annually

What you will do

• Manage construction of maintenance facilities, operations buildings, and transportation support infrastructure from groundbreaking through closeout.
• Act as the primary field representative and client advisor during construction.
• Coordinate owners, contractors, subcontractors, design consultants, equipment suppliers, commissioning agents, and facility operators.
• Monitor compliance with contract documents, safety requirements, quality standards, schedules, and budgets.
• Review schedules, phasing plans, payment applications, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and claims, while leading progress meetings and resolving field issues.
• Coordinate MEP, fire protection, specialty equipment, building automation, inspections, testing, occupancy approvals, commissioning, and facility turnover.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of progressively responsible construction management experience on complex vertical building projects.
• Experience delivering maintenance facilities, industrial buildings, operations facilities, transportation support buildings, or similar mission-critical infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of commercial and industrial construction, including structural systems, architectural finishes, and complex MEP systems.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary contractors and consultants, with strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Willingness to work primarily from project sites throughout the Northeast.

Nice to have

• Experience with aviation or rail and transit clients and facilities such as aircraft maintenance hangars, rail maintenance shops, bus garages, and operations control centers.
• PE, CCM, PMP, or equivalent professional certification.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification.
• Experience with Design-Build, CMAR, Progressive Design-Build, or P3 delivery methods.
• Proficiency with Primavera P6, Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Project.
