Infrastructure and Email Security Engineer

What you will do

• Partner with Cyber, IT Engineering, IT Operations, M365, and Exchange teams to implement security best practices across data center and cloud environments.
• Maintain and improve security controls for compute, storage, networks, virtualization, identity, and cloud infrastructure.
• Administer and tune the Proofpoint email security platform and design controls against phishing, business email compromise, and account takeover.
• Identify security-control gaps, prioritize remediation with system owners, and translate security requirements into practical operational guidance.
• Support SOC investigations and response for infrastructure- and email-related incidents.
• Track infrastructure and email security posture, control effectiveness, and residual risk through metrics and reporting.

Requirements

• Hands-on administration of Microsoft Windows and Linux servers, including security hardening.
• Experience with VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V, core networking, data center appliances, and enterprise storage.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, and/or GCP infrastructure, identity and access management, configuration and patch management, and vulnerability management tools.
• Knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online, including mail flow, transport rules, connectors, authentication protocols, SPF, DKIM, and DMARC.
• Understanding of Active Directory, Azure AD/Entra ID, privileged access management, cloud security posture management, SIEM, backup and disaster recovery, and Kubernetes environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, or a related field; relevant certifications are valued.

Nice to have

• Enterprise administration experience with Proofpoint or comparable platforms such as Mimecast, Abnormal Security, or Microsoft Defender for Office 365.
• Master’s degree and certifications such as CISSP, GIAC/GSEC, Proofpoint, AWS, Azure, or GCP certifications.
