Commercial Credit Lead (Healthcare)

What you will do

• Underwrite new commercial healthcare credit requests, material modifications, renewals, and restructurings from deal screening through approval and throughout the loan lifecycle.
• Monitor existing portfolios through annual reviews, covenant monitoring, interim updates, risk-rating assessments, early-warning indicators, and problem-loan management.
• Analyze financial statements, tax returns, due diligence reports, credit data, collateral, industry research, and market trends to assess credit quality and risks.
• Build financial models, cash-flow analyses, collateral schedules, covenant sensitivity calculations, and guarantor analyses across base, company, and downside scenarios.
• Recommend loan structures, terms, conditions, collateral, guarantors, and risk ratings while presenting analyses to credit committees and addressing questions.
• Lead transaction execution teams, partner with relationship managers and risk officers, support client calls, and identify issues requiring escalation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field and 7 years of experience in complex credit underwriting, specialty underwriting, or complex financial analysis; equivalent education and experience may be considered.
• Advanced financial modeling, credit transaction analysis, financial ratio interpretation, data analysis, and trend analysis skills.
• Experience with legal documentation, including negotiating documentation and independently structuring transactions.
• Strong written and verbal communication, critical thinking, problem-solving, organization, attention to detail, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work independently, collaborate with teams, interact with customers, and lead transaction teams consisting of Associates and/or Analysts.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and understanding of financial regulatory requirements, credit policies, risk controls, and audit standards.

Nice to have

• Experience with Capital IQ, FactSet, Bloomberg, or nCino.
• Experience in commercial healthcare credit underwriting.
