Salary: $8,416.67 monthly minimum; $101,000.00 stated annual salary

Texas A&M University–Central Texas is a university developing military, veteran, workforce, and research programs in collaboration with government and regional industry partners.

What you will do

  • Support the Director in departmental operations and act in the Director’s absence when required.
  • Lead strategic planning, program development, and external partnership initiatives for workforce programs.
  • Develop programs supporting veterans and expanding the Texas workforce in STEM, semiconductors, data analytics, cybersecurity, and law enforcement.
  • Prepare budgets, control expenses, and manage funding requirements for grant-supported activities.
  • Set performance goals, develop reports and analyses, and evaluate program outcomes.
  • Supervise staff and project teams, coordinate with Military and Veteran Services and ROTC, ensure compliance, and represent the university at associations and external events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least eight years of related experience.
  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
  • Ability to multitask, collaborate, and communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer.
  • The position is on campus in Killeen, Texas; it is not remote. Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with nights and weekends as needed.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree or higher.
  • Experience in higher education, workforce development, program development, or public-private partnerships.
  • At least seven years of supervisory experience and five years of management experience.
  • Civic, government, or community engagement experience.
  • Experience working with the military or Department of Defense.

  • Grant-funded position through August 15, 2028, with possible renewal after the grant ends.
