Adult Career Advisor (Career Counseling)

Location: North Las Vegas, Nevada, USA; onsite at Clark County Library District, Job Connect, and/or designated EmployNV workforce development hubs. This position is not remote. Travel within Clark County may be required.

Pay rate: $25.00–$25.50 per hour. Schedule: Monday–Friday, 11:30 AM–8:00 PM.

What you will do

• Counsel customers on job-search strategies, career goals, training options, and barriers to employment.
• Identify external resources, community programs, and intervention services that support customer needs.
• Manage customer relationships, track participation, document case notes, and address concerns with action plans.
• Facilitate job-readiness and job-search workshops and provide motivational support throughout the employment process.
• Assess resumes and required documentation, support customer eligibility processing, and maintain accurate records.
• Help maintain career-advisement procedures, support team training, and assist with daily operations and special projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, marketing, business, human resources, or a related field, plus 2 or more years of relevant experience; an equivalent combination of education and experience is accepted.
• Experience counseling career-service consumers in a high-volume human-services or workforce-development environment.
• Strong communication, organization, computer, writing, proofreading, and spreadsheet skills.
• Ability to motivate individuals, present workshops, and work with customers facing employment barriers.
• Knowledge of job-search strategies, action plans, local community needs, and referral resources.
• Ability to work onsite during the stated schedule, work overtime if required, and travel within Clark County when necessary.
