Software Engineering Manager (AI)

Location: Sunrise, Florida, United States

Salary: $129,500–$186,100 per year, plus potential performance-based bonus and restricted stock unit awards.

What you will do

• Lead a team of software engineers building and delivering features for the Payroll product suite.
• Provide technical direction for complex projects, architecture, design, scalability, reliability, security, and responsible AI development.
• Guide the design of reliable and observable AI systems, including multi-agent orchestration, tool and skill design, prompt engineering, and evaluation.
• Own the full delivery lifecycle from requirements and design through development, testing, deployment, and production operations.
• Manage performance, capacity, priorities, risks, delivery quality, service health, and engineering efficiency.
• Collaborate with product management, design, operations, and other stakeholders while mentoring engineers and supporting professional growth.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years of software development experience, including 2+ years in technical leadership and 2+ years in people management or relevant experience.
• Experience leading large-scale, complex software projects and teams building SaaS, enterprise, or highly available production systems.
• Deep expertise in one or more of C#, .NET, Python, Java, or JavaScript, with strong software architecture and design-pattern knowledge.
• Strong understanding of cloud technologies, DevOps principles, CI/CD, production management, and operational excellence.
• Ability to introduce AI-enabled features safely, transparently, and compliantly, with strong communication and leadership skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with LLM APIs such as Gemini, OpenAI, or Anthropic, and agent frameworks such as Google ADK or LangChain.
• Familiarity with AI evaluation, observability, testing strategies for non-deterministic systems, RAG patterns, prompt engineering, and agentic workflows.
• Experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP, CI/CD automation tools, agile methodologies, or complex matrixed organizations.
• Master’s degree or PhD, experience developing accessible technologies, or involvement in diversity and inclusion initiatives.
