Lead Software Engineer

Location: London Area, UK; office-first with flexibility when needed

Salary: £100,000–£160,000 per year

What you will do

• Own the technical direction and architecture of a major product area.
• Design and build complex, mission-critical production software.
• Lead, mentor, and develop other engineers through technical leadership and code reviews.
• Influence product, architecture, and roadmap decisions.
• Build systems with security, reliability, and scalability at the core.

Requirements

• Strong experience with one or more of C++, Java, Rust, Python, TypeScript, or JavaScript.
• Experience designing and delivering complex production systems.
• Strong architectural judgment and pragmatic decision-making skills.
• Experience leading, mentoring, or managing engineers.
• Right to work in the UK and eligibility for UK SC clearance required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, embedded systems, machine learning, or application security.
• Interest in using modern AI coding tools effectively.
