Staff Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Toronto, Canada; hybrid schedule with in-office work required on Wednesdays and Thursdays

Salary: CAD 160,000–214,100 per year, plus variable compensation including short-term and long-term incentives.

What you will do

• Strengthen AI enablement foundations and accelerate the adoption of agentic workflows across engineering teams.
• Contribute to system architecture and design solutions that integrate with broader enterprise standards.
• Own software components end to end, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operations.
• Build and improve software spanning mobile experiences, utility integrations, smart building tools, third-party APIs, connectivity, and platform services.
• Debug complex stack-wide issues, identify root causes, and implement durable solutions.
• Mentor engineers, lead technical discussions and design reviews, and drive engineering improvements across teams.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience delivering complex, cross-domain projects at scale.
• Experience building agentic workflows in large-scale systems.
• Expertise in system design, architecture, and high-availability, secure systems.
• Proficiency in multiple languages and frameworks, including Go, Java, TypeScript, C++, or Python.
• Experience with messaging queues, real-time data handling, cloud platforms such as GCP or AWS, and database performance optimization.
• Strong debugging, technical leadership, mentoring, and cross-team collaboration skills, including work with mobile devices and cloud services.
