Federal Principal Presales Architect (AI/Cloud)

Location: Remote/Teleworker, with residence in Northern Virginia, the Washington, D.C. area, or Maryland. US citizenship and TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph are required at the time of hire.

Salary: USD 161,000–378,000 annual total target compensation in Maryland and Virginia, consisting of 80% base salary and 20% target-level sales compensation.

What you will do

• Lead technical discussions with Federal Government customers and account teams to assess business needs and existing environments.
• Design and present integrated enterprise IT solutions spanning hardware, software, cloud, services, and as-a-service offerings.
• Develop technology recommendations, high-level architectures, value propositions, and technical strategies for customer transformation initiatives.
• Coordinate account managers, client specialists, partners, and internal experts to deliver comprehensive solutions.
• Monitor opportunities, identify account expansion potential, and support successful deal closure.
• Mentor peers and partners while providing feedback on customer requirements, market trends, and technology gaps.

Requirements

• US citizenship, Northern Virginia/Washington, D.C. area/Maryland location, and TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph at hire are required.
• 8+ years of technical experience in enterprise IT, technical consulting, and solution selling.
• 5+ years of experience with AI, cloud software, open source, containers, virtualization, systems management, servers, storage, and networking.
• Experience architecting complex, large-scale, end-to-end enterprise solutions and translating technical concepts into business value.
• Experience with high-performance computing, hybrid cloud architectures, data center technologies, and system integrations.
• Degree in information technology, computer science, data science, cybersecurity, engineering, science/analytics, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Relevant technology certifications, including AWS Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect, or Google Cloud Architect.
• Federal procurement knowledge and familiarity with HPE’s solution portfolio.
• Enterprise architecture frameworks, project management methodologies, and technical customer sales experience.
