Focus on designing experiments, analyzing process data, troubleshooting optical and vacuum equipment, and transferring qualified technology across Intel factories.
Location: Hillsboro, Oregon, United States. Hybrid work model with time split between the assigned site and off-site work.
Annual salary: $133,800–$188,890 USD.

What you will do
- Develop and execute current and next-generation lithography manufacturing processes.
- Design experiments, analyze data, and develop processes that meet manufacturing, safety, automation, facility, supply-chain, performance, and yield requirements.
- Contribute to lectual property for novel transistor and interconnect architectures and collaborate with integrated module partners.
- Work with industry partners and equipment suppliers to implement lithography equipment, address capability gaps, and develop hardware modifications and preventive maintenance.
- Install and qualify high-volume manufacturing capacity, support ramp-up, and operate manufacturing lines producing revenue products.
- Transfer technology to other factories through training and Copy Exactly installation and qualification audits.
Requirements
- PhD in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or a related scientific or engineering discipline.
- Currently hold a PhD or expect to complete it within 12 months of application.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experimental research experience through doctoral research, laboratory instrumentation, advanced material characterization, optics, plasma, thin-film processing, or related work.
- Ability to work in a hybrid model with on-site presence at the Hillsboro site.
Nice to have
- Experience designing equipment or instrumentation, working with vacuum or optical systems, precision tooling, or troubleshooting experimental hardware.
- Experience applying Python, C#, or machine learning and AI frameworks to scientific computing, automated data acquisition, or process optimization.
- Publications, presentations, or patents demonstrating scientific problem-solving.
