Retrofit Solutions Engineer I (Aerospace)

Location: Mobile Area, Alabama, United States; minimum 80% onsite and 20% remote.

What you will do

• Develop aircraft cabin retrofit solutions from global architecture definition through detailed technical design.
• Create engineering drawings and define the complete kits required for physical aircraft modifications.
• Develop modification plans and program enablers while coordinating milestones, stakeholders, and international hirify.global departments.
• Manage subcontractor performance, costs, schedules, and technical interfaces.
• Develop certification plans and support aircraft certification in accordance with aviation authority requirements.
• Provide technical support at customer airlines and MRO facilities and resolve queries during and after retrofit delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related technical discipline with 0–3 years of engineering experience, or a related master’s degree with 0–1 years of experience.
• Experience creating, reviewing, and modifying structural or cabin designs using CAD tools such as CATIA V5 or similar.
• Exposure to project or program engineering methodologies, technical milestone management, and risk management.
• Ability to interpret aircraft technical subjects, Service Bulletins, Bills of Materials, and customer-specific modification requirements.
• Ability to coordinate with customers, subcontractors, airworthiness authorities, and international engineering teams.
• Current authorization to work in the United States is required; visa sponsorship is not available for this US position.

Nice to have

• Airline, MRO, aircraft cabin, aircraft modification, or hangar-floor experience.
• Python or another programming language.
• Familiarity with FAA or EASA regulations, parts procurement, certification documentation, and product traceability.
• Experience with Illustrated Parts Catalogs and ATA technical manuals such as AMM, SRM, and CMM.
