Senior Integration & Test Engineer (Aerospace): Leading the integration, qualification, and production transition of hypersonic strike vehicle assemblies with an accent on mechanical, electrical, avionics, manufacturing, and test processes. Focus on designing test infrastructure, troubleshooting failures, scaling production-ready workflows, and executing flight-hardware test campaigns.

Location: Torrance, California, or Rio Rancho, New Mexico, United States

Company

hirify.global is an early-stage aerospace and defense startup developing advanced hypersonic strike systems and production capabilities.

What you will do

  • Own assembly, integration, and testing for complete hypersonic strike vehicle assemblies, including structural, mechanical, electrical, avionics, and solid rocket motor subsystems.
  • Guide hardware from concept and prototype through qualification and production-ready status in partnership with design, manufacturing, quality, supply-chain, and external fabrication teams.
  • Develop and qualify manufacturing, assembly, and test processes, including work instructions, test procedures, mBOMs, inspection standards, tooling, fixtures, test stands, and integration equipment.
  • Lead hands-on flight-hardware builds and functional, static, environmental, and acceptance test campaigns, including go/no-go decisions.
  • Lead root-cause investigations and corrective actions for integration and test failures while improving assembly flows and test procedures.
  • Plan capital equipment, facility layout, and production-line upgrades; mentor engineers and technicians as production volume and complexity increase.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, manufacturing engineering, or another technical discipline.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in aerospace, defense, or a related high-reliability manufacturing or production environment.
  • Experience taking hardware from R&D or prototype phases through production.
  • Proficiency with CAD/CAM software; NX is preferred.
  • Broad knowledge of mechanical, structural/composite, electrical, and avionics systems, with the ability to collaborate across disciplines.
  • Access to export-controlled information may require eligibility under U.S. Government export-control rules and, where applicable, the ability to obtain a security clearance or other government authorization.

Nice to have

  • Experience writing and executing detailed test plans, qualification procedures, acceptance criteria, and environmental tests.
  • Experience with large-scale assembly, heavy lifting, crane operations, facility logistics, and hardware-flow safety.
  • Experience with avionics harnessing, flight-hardware electrical integration, instrumentation, DAQ, automated test setups, and data analysis.
  • Python, MATLAB, SQL, or similar programming experience for test automation and data processing.
  • Experience with configuration management, GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, manufacturing-flow automation, and high-volume production.

Culture & Benefits

  • Early-stage startup environment with significant ownership and direct impact on advanced defense systems.
  • Fast-paced, resource-constrained work focused on execution, accountability, technical rigor, safety, and continuous learning.
  • Generous benefits package.
  • Equal opportunity employer with reasonable accommodations available throughout the hiring process.
