Station Electrician C - A

Location: Hanging Rock, Ohio; successful candidates must live or be willing to relocate within 45 minutes of the Hanging Rock Transmission Service Center. The role involves considerable travel, expected to exceed 50% of the time, as well as overtime, call-out overtime, and shift work.

Salary: $31.33–$34.84 per hour for Station Electrician C; $38.83–$40.03 per hour for Station Electrician B; $58.62 per hour for Station Electrician A.

What you will do

• Construct, maintain, rebuild, remove, operate, test, and inspect generation, transmission, and distribution facilities.
• Work on energized equipment up to 260 volts and assist with equipment above 750 volts under direct supervision after six months in classification.
• Disassemble, inspect, maintain, and repair transformers, circuit breakers, portable substations, rotating machinery, network protectors, batteries, and related station equipment.
• Install and maintain conduit, pipe, cable, wire, communication systems, station batteries, fences, barriers, and safety signs.
• Perform transformer and electrical testing, visual inspections, gauge readings, oil handling, station switching, equipment clearances, and grounding.
• Respond to station emergencies, support service restoration, operate vehicles, cranes, aerial lifts, generators, and other specialized equipment, and maintain required records and reports.

Requirements

• Associate degree in electrical, mechanical, or industrial maintenance technology, equivalent qualifying military or technical experience, or recent Station Electrician experience with a utility or contractor.
• No previous experience is required for Station Electrician C; advancement requires satisfactory experience, training, examinations, and performance appraisal.
• Valid Class A CDL is required, or must be obtained before the end of the designated probationary period.
• Must live or be willing to relocate within 45 minutes of the Hanging Rock Transmission Service Center.
• Must successfully complete the Physical Abilities Test and meet heavy-work physical requirements, including climbing structures of 50 feet or higher, lifting up to 75 pounds, and working from aerial lifts.
• Must be available for considerable travel, overtime, call-out overtime, and shift work, and must follow company safety and operating rules.
