Buyer (Automotive)

What you will do

• Purchase goods, materials, and services against cost, quality, and delivery targets.
• Request and evaluate supplier quotations and perform should-cost, competitive-bid, and cost-breakdown analyses.
• Generate compliant purchase orders and manage purchasing documentation.
• Identify supply, market, and supplier risks; develop mitigation plans and escalate issues when needed.
• Manage supplier relationships, assess new suppliers, and monitor supplier performance.
• Develop and implement cost-reduction initiatives to achieve favorable Purchase Price Variance targets.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 3–5 years of professional experience, including 1–3 years of purchasing experience.
• Fluent English; an additional language is a plus.
• Knowledge of purchasing systems and procedures, ERP systems, planning, negotiation, and contract management.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, influencing, prioritization, and documentation skills.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States; employment authorization is verified through E-Verify.

• Oracle software experience.
• Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Automotive industry experience.
• Commodity-specific experience, especially in IT or labor.
• Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.
