Specialist, Direct Procurement– Interior Commodity (Automotive)

Location: Onsite in Charlotte, North Carolina, or Novi, Michigan, with 4–5 days per week in the office. Regular in-person meetings, company events, and travel are required. Remote work is not available for this role in New York City.

Salary: $90,000–$112,500 annual base salary, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

What you will do

• Identify suitable suppliers for automotive interior parts and services and participate in pre-sourcing supplier audits.
• Develop commodity sourcing strategies and business plans, lead sourcing activities, and award contracts for interior purchasing.
• Present sourcing strategies to multi-level sourcing committees and negotiate contracts, nomination agreements, costs, and tooling.
• Act as program manager during pre-production, ensuring supplier industrialization meets timing, cost, quality, and project requirements.
• Evaluate technical changes and coordinate supplier mass-production readiness with Quality, Engineering, and Logistics.
• Manage supplier relationships and performance using key performance metrics.

Requirements

• 4+ years of purchasing experience developing and executing procurement commodity strategies.
• Automotive negotiation experience, specifically in interior commodity purchasing.
• Knowledge of automotive, manufacturing, or related industries and experience managing supplier performance.
• Program management experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple workstreams independently.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, collaboration, initiative, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with interior parts and processes such as plastic injection, compression molding, or wrapping is highly desirable.

Nice to have

• Expertise in interior plastics including PP, PC, PC-ABS, PE, TPO, and GF.
• Knowledge of decorative materials such as fabrics, PVC, PU, and leather.
