TL;DR
HPLC Laboratory Chemist (Analytical Chemistry): Performing wet chemistry, HPLC analysis, sample preparation, laboratory technology operation, and quality-controlled data reporting for cannabis product testing with an accent on analytical accuracy, GMP, ISO 17025, and laboratory SOPs. Focus on calibrating instrumentation, interpreting analytical data, maintaining compliance records, and supporting the training and supervision of laboratory technicians.

Location: On-site in Woodbridge, Ontario, Canada; reliable commuting or relocation to Woodbridge is required.

Salary: Up to CAD 55,000 per year

What you will do

  • Perform wet chemistry, sample processing, preparation, extraction, and HPLC-related laboratory testing.
  • Collect, analyze, interpret, and document laboratory data accurately.
  • Operate, calibrate, qualify, and perform routine maintenance on analytical instruments and laboratory software.
  • Create, improve, and enforce laboratory SOPs, reporting processes, and record-management protocols.
  • Support the supervision, guidance, and training of laboratory technicians.
  • Maintain quality, safety, regulatory, and operational standards in the laboratory.

Requirements

  • BSc in Analytical Chemistry.
  • At least 2 years of experience in an ISO/GMP-regulated environment and at least 3 years of chemistry experience.
  • Experience operating, calibrating, and qualifying HPLC and other analytical instruments used in pharmaceutical quality-control laboratories.
  • Knowledge of GMP and ISO 17025 requirements; experience with Health Canada licensing and regulatory processes is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, database interfaces, query software, chromatographic software, and LIMS.
  • Must not require sponsorship to work in Canada and must pass criminal background, education, and employment verification checks.
