Laboratory Technician - Geochemistry

Location: 185 Concession St, Lakefield, Ontario, Canada; rotating days, afternoons, and evenings schedule. Candidates must be authorized to work in Canada.

Salary: CAD 20.50–21.50 per hour, 40 hours per week.

What you will do

• Perform routine testing and analysis according to written work instructions and supervisor direction.
• Identify, prepare, dilute, catalogue, store, retrieve, dispose of, or return samples.
• Log samples accurately and efficiently in LIMS.
• Prepare standards and reagents, interpret results, and evaluate findings.
• Maintain equipment calibration records and monitor equipment maintenance and laboratory supplies.
• Follow quality system protocols and report discrepancies to the supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Laboratory experience is an asset.
• Good hand-eye coordination and comfort working with numerals and computer data.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions safely, accurately, and on time.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Strong communication, teamwork, independent working, time management, and attention to detail skills.
