Kettle Crane Operator

What you will do

• Operate Demag 5-ton and 10-ton overhead bridge cranes to lift and move structural steel, poles, and other products.
• Move dipped steel through water tanks and zinc baths to complete the galvanizing process.
• Control crane speed and direction, inspect load hookups, and verify the safety of hooks, chains, and crane equipment.
• Perform paddling, scraping, and wiping functions to improve the finish and quality of galvanized products.
• Inspect materials and machinery for damage, defects, or malfunctions and report issues to the supervisor.
• Clean and maintain cranes while following PPE and workplace safety requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Advanced capability operating overhead crane equipment.
• One year of overhead crane experience in a galvanizing facility or equivalent experience preferred.
• Excellent safety record, strong work ethic, and reliable attendance.
• Ability to train employees in Kettle Crane Operator I and II positions.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, or otherwise manipulate up to 50 pounds by hand.
