Senior IT Systems Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Chicago, IL, USA; in-person support for the Chicago office and company events is required.

Salary: $100,000–$130,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead identity and access engineering in Okta, including SSO, MFA, provisioning, deprovisioning, groups, and least-privilege access policies.
• Automate provisioning, configuration, reporting, onboarding, and offboarding while maintaining documentation and operational runbooks.
• Own IT environment security through vulnerability and patch management, endpoint hardening, detection, and incident response.
• Configure and operate SaaS platforms, vendor relationships, macOS and Windows endpoints, and workforce enablement systems.
• Maintain access reviews, configuration standards, asset inventory, logging, and evidence for internal and external audits.
• Support the Chicago office, including networks, meeting-room AV, badge access, cameras, and escalated IT issues.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in IT systems engineering or administration, with independent ownership of major systems or environments.
• Experience with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar tools, plus REST APIs and configuration-as-code.
• Strong engineering practices including source control, meaningful testing, documentation, and repeatable, auditable processes.
• Depth in several areas including Okta, SSO, MFA, identity lifecycle, macOS, Jamf, Microsoft 365, SaaS administration, networking, endpoint security, patching, virtualization, VDI, or IT asset lifecycle.
• Hands-on experience with hardened office environments, including LAN, Wi-Fi, switching, firewalls, VPN, badge systems, cameras, and meeting-room AV.
• Experience in a regulated, security-conscious, or highly available environment; financial services experience is helpful.
