Senior IT Engineer (AI)

Location: San Francisco, CA — hybrid, three days per week in the office

Salary: $124,000–$158,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Design, implement, and operate core internal systems covering identity, endpoints, corporate applications, and networking.
• Lead technical projects through scoping, design, piloting, rollout, and handoff.
• Implement and maintain SASE, zero trust, conditional access, and device trust controls.
• Build automation, integrations, AI-assisted workflows, agentic workflows, and expanded self-service capabilities.
• Evaluate and migrate to new tools and platforms while serving as the escalation point for complex, high-impact issues.
• Improve security and reliability through access controls, patching, monitoring, documentation, runbooks, access reviews, and audit support.

Requirements

• 7–10 years of experience in IT engineering, corporate infrastructure, or a related discipline.
• Endpoint engineering across macOS and Windows, including MDM and fleet-scale configuration management.
• Identity platform experience with Okta, Google Workspace, or another IdP, including SSO, SCIM, and lifecycle automation.
• Corporate networking experience with Wi-Fi, VPN, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, firewall fundamentals, SASE, conditional access, and device trust.
• AI-native approach with practical scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell and comfort working with APIs.
• Strong communication, escalation-management, and service-oriented problem-solving skills. A background check and security awareness training are required before system access.

Nice to have

• Experience in financial services or another regulated environment, including SOC 2, FINRA, SEC, or similar frameworks.
• Experience supporting 500+ endpoints or rapid organizational growth.
• Experience implementing or replacing IdP, MDM, or ITSM platforms.
• Experience with internal tooling, AI-assisted IT workflows, Terraform, Ansible, M&A integration, or office buildouts.
