Supplier Engineer IV (Semiconductor Manufacturing)

Location: Phoenix, AZ, United States; onsite role with up to 30% domestic and international travel

Salary: $116,000–$159,500 per year

What you will do

• Lead supplier quality improvement initiatives and performance plans covering quality, delivery, capacity, cost, and operational excellence.
• Act as the primary technical interface for machining and contract manufacturing suppliers.
• Resolve supplier and factory issues using 8D, DMAIC, root cause analysis, and corrective action methodologies.
• Conduct supplier assessments, technical audits, process evaluations, and manufacturing capability reviews.
• Support new product introductions through supplier readiness assessments, qualification plans, and risk mitigation.
• Lead cross-functional projects, analyze supplier performance metrics, and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, manufacturing, industrial, materials science, quality engineering, or a related technical field.
• At least 7 years of experience in supplier engineering, supplier quality, manufacturing engineering, operations, or a related discipline.
• Experience with machining, fabrication, precision manufacturing, or contract manufacturing suppliers.
• Knowledge of CNC machining, assemblies, welding, fabrication, precision components, engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T.
• Ability to lead corrective actions, root cause investigations, continuous improvement initiatives, and cross-functional projects.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally, including on short notice, is required.

Nice to have

• Experience in semiconductor capital equipment, aerospace, medical device, or other high-tech manufacturing.
• Experience with contract manufacturers, build-to-print suppliers, and global supply chains.
• Knowledge of PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA, APQP, PPAP, and quality management systems.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt, PMP certification, or supplier audit experience.
