What you will do
- Perform liquid penetrant inspections on production, first-article, and reworked aerospace hardware.
- Complete and document penetrant-line process control checks, including light intensity, material concentration, system performance, and reference panel verification.
- Interpret inspection indications and make accept-or-reject decisions against engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Maintain accurate inspection, calibration, and process-control records in the Manufacturing Execution System.
- Document and help resolve nonconformances, participate in material review board activities, and follow corrective actions through completion.
- Support penetrant-process qualification, customer source approval, Nadcap readiness, shop-floor standardization, and trainee mentoring.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent and at least two years of hands-on nondestructive testing experience in aerospace, defense, or precision manufacturing.
- Certified or certifiable to NAS 410 Level II in liquid penetrant testing; equivalent credentials under other listed standards may be evaluated.
- Documented formal training and on-the-job experience supporting Level II qualification.
- Working knowledge of ASTM E1417, AMS 2644, AS9100, and AS9102, plus the ability to read engineering drawings, weld symbols, and customer specifications.
- Annual compliance with NAS 410 vision requirements, including near-vision acuity and color and contrast differentiation.
- Must meet U.S. export control (ITAR) requirements. Ability to communicate in English, perform basic shop math, and use standard computer applications is required.
Nice to have
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector qualification under AWS QC1.
- NAS 410 Level II qualifications in UT, RT, MT, or ET.
- Experience with Nadcap NDT accreditation, weldment inspection, structured problem solving, and lean practices.
