TL;DR
Quality Inspector (Aerospace) (Propulsion & Fluids Manufacturing): Performing in-process and final inspections of launch vehicle and spacecraft propulsion hardware with an accent on dimensional accuracy, configuration control, workmanship, cleanliness, and test compliance. Focus on inspecting valves, tube assemblies, welds, engine integration, pressure-boundary interfaces, and investigating non-conformances to protect flight hardware.

Location: Onsite at the Production and Test facility in Briggs, Texas, north of Cedar Park.

What you will do

  • Perform in-process and final inspections of launch vehicle and spacecraft components and sub-assemblies within propulsion and fluids manufacturing.
  • Conduct dimensional and visual inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, fixtures, and other precision measurement equipment.
  • Inspect valves, tube assemblies, fittings, welds, braze joints, sealing surfaces, and pressure-boundary interfaces for compliance with drawings, specifications, GD&T, and workmanship standards.
  • Verify engine assembly and integration activities, including component installation, configuration, interfaces, torque, seals, locking features, and test operations.
  • Confirm traceability, certifications, manufacturing records, cleanliness, contamination control, and FOD requirements before hardware acceptance.
  • Document non-conformances, support root-cause analysis and corrective actions, track quality data, and contribute to audits and continuous improvement using 5S and Lean principles.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on inspection, quality, manufacturing, maintenance, assembly, or related technical experience in aerospace, defense, military aviation, or a similarly regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, engineering specifications, manufacturing instructions, and quality-control documentation, including working knowledge of GD&T.
  • Experience performing dimensional inspections with precision measurement tools.
  • Experience working within established quality systems and manufacturing controls in a regulated environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, organization, flexibility, and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

  • Associate degree or higher in quality, engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience with aerospace propulsion systems, engines, valves, tube assemblies, fittings, manifolds, or other fluid-system hardware.
  • Experience with engine assembly, propulsion integration, pressure or leak testing, precision cleaning, contamination control, FOD prevention, or cleanroom operations.
  • Experience supporting MRB, root-cause analysis, corrective action, containment, MBD, AS9100, ISO 9001, MES, QMS, or digital manufacturing records.
