Network Engineer III (IP)

Location: United States; remote eligible with restrictions. The role supports occasional travel between retail stores, offices, worksites, or other locations and may require work outside normal business hours in a 24/7 environment.

What you will do

• Design, plan, implement, and support high-availability IP/MPLS core networks, carrier Ethernet transport systems, cellular data core systems, and video transmission services.
• Apply telecommunications engineering principles covering availability, redundancy, reliability, security, scalability, and efficiency.
• Monitor network performance, troubleshoot outages, manage escalations, and coordinate resolution with engineering and project teams.
• Define operational KPIs, maintain technical documentation and network diagrams, and provide training and technical direction.
• Coordinate complex projects and future architecture planning across multiple business departments.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians and provide remote site support.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer technologies, electrical engineering, or a related field; relevant experience may substitute year for year.
• At least six years of progressive engineering experience in information technology, telecommunications, network design and implementation, or complex project management.
• Advanced understanding of high availability, redundancy, reliability, testing, security, and telecommunications standards.
• Experience with protocols and technologies such as BGP, IS-IS, OSPF, EIGRP, Ethernet, VLANs, STP, LACP, MC-LAG, SONET, TDM, fiber, microwave, satellite, Wi-Fi, or cellular networks.
• Must be able to work in the United States under the role’s remote-work restrictions and support occasional travel or emergency after-hours work.

Nice to have

• Telecommunications industry experience.
• Cisco CCNA, Nokia NRS I, Brocade BCNE, Juniper JNCIA, Professional Engineer, or other relevant certifications.
