Project Manager 4 - Contingent (Hadoop)

Location: Hybrid in Charlotte, NC; Irving, TX; Chandler, AZ; or Minneapolis, MN

Salary: $60.00–$68.00 per hour on W-2

What you will do

• Lead a large-scale enterprise data platform modernization program focused on retiring legacy Hadoop platforms and supporting infrastructure.
• Oversee discovery, prioritization, migration, archival, application retirement, tenant offboarding, and platform decommissioning activities.
• Coordinate cloud, data platform, middleware, security, infrastructure, and application teams through readiness reviews, cutovers, production implementation, and stabilization.
• Establish program governance, integrated roadmaps, milestone tracking, risk registers, financial oversight, and executive reporting.
• Drive remediation of vulnerabilities, end-of-life technologies, audit findings, and regulatory commitments.
• Coordinate operational readiness, business continuity testing, support transitions, communications, training, and change management.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of project, program, or portfolio management experience in large-scale technology organizations; 5+ years of project management experience is also listed for the contingent assignment.
• Experience leading infrastructure transformation, data platform modernization, cloud migration, data center exit, or application retirement initiatives.
• Experience managing multimillion-dollar programs with multiple workstreams, vendors, and executive stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise data platforms, distributed computing, risk management, financial governance, executive reporting, and dependency management.
• Experience with Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery methodologies.
• Exceptional communication, facilitation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Hadoop ecosystems such as Hortonworks, Cloudera, MapR, Hive, Spark, Oozie, or HDFS.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform, Azure, AWS, or private cloud platforms.
• Knowledge of data engineering, ETL modernization, data governance, analytics platforms, or large-scale infrastructure decommissioning.
• PMP, PgMP, Agile, SAFe, or equivalent certification.
