Senior Data Scientist (Biotechnology)

Location: Hybrid in South San Francisco, California; candidates must be authorized to work in the United States

Salary: $170,000–$210,000 per year, plus annual performance bonus and equity

What you will do

• Develop and execute the quality data science and quality engineering strategy for the allogeneic CAR T platform.
• Apply statistics, data science, and machine learning to GMP operations, process understanding, product quality control, and continuous improvement.
• Support product comparability, process validation, product monitoring, stability trending, and lifecycle management.
• Build quality management system procedures and contribute to Product Quality Review and Management Review tools.
• Provide data-driven support for root cause investigations, regulatory submissions, inspections, and inspection readiness.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to establish knowledge management practices and identify new technologies.

Requirements

• BS/MS degree in Statistics, Data Science, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
• 6–8 years of relevant experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.
• Strong expertise in applied statistics, including design of experiments, multivariate analysis, regression, and time-series analysis.
• Hands-on experience with R, Python, JMP, SAS, or equivalent tools, plus familiarity with data visualization.
• Experience analyzing complex laboratory, process, or manufacturing data and translating insights into business recommendations.
• Comprehensive knowledge of GMP regulations and industry best practices, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.

• ASQ Quality Engineer certification.
