Senior Data Scientist (Insurance)

Location: Hybrid work schedule with at least 3 days per week at the St. Louis Corporate Office in Saint Louis, Missouri, USA

Salary: $116,500–$150,500 annually

What you will do

• Develop, deploy, validate, and optimize predictive models for complex business challenges.
• Transform large, complex datasets into actionable insights for business decision-making.
• Partner with claims, underwriting, actuarial, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
• Ensure data quality, regulatory compliance, and reproducible analytical processes.
• Create impactful visualizations and communicate technical findings to diverse audiences.
• Advance data science capabilities and explore generative AI solutions for operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in statistics, mathematics, actuarial science, computer science, or another quantitative field.
• At least 6 years of experience as a data scientist focused on machine learning and predictive modeling.
• Strong proficiency in Python or R and machine learning libraries such as Scikit-Learn, XGBoost, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
• Strong understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning techniques, and risk assessment in an insurance environment.
• Extensive experience with relational databases, cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake, and advanced SQL.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring current or future work authorization sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience with generative AI solutions and workflow integration.
• Familiarity with insurance data sources, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
• Knowledge of database design principles for efficient, scalable data structures.
