Director, Technology Strategy & Operations (AI)

Location: United States of America; flexible hybrid work, with occasional in-person events or team sessions.

Salary: $150,380–$327,025 per year, plus potential discretionary annual bonus or commissions.

What you will do

• Partner with the CTO and Central Technology leaders to turn multi-year priorities into roadmaps, OKRs, KPIs, investment plans, and resource allocation decisions.
• Run and improve annual and quarterly planning, business reviews, executive reviews, and all-hands forums using AI-driven workflows.
• Lead structured analysis and implementation for ambiguous, high-stakes strategic and operational challenges.
• Build automated, AI-assisted reporting pipelines covering technology performance, operational health, dependencies, and cloud and infrastructure investments.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Finance, and People teams on platform outcomes, architecture roadmaps, budgets, workforce planning, vendor management, and cost allocation.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the Strategy & Operations team while directly owning high-priority strategic initiatives.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in strategy and operations, business operations, product operations, management consulting, technology finance, or technical program management in large-scale technology environments.
• Experience partnering with C-level, VP, Product, and Engineering leaders to guide strategic decisions and operational alignment.
• Strong strategic, financial, analytical, written, verbal, and visual communication skills.
• Experience designing planning processes, executive reviews, operational metrics, and governance cadences.
• Deep understanding of technology budgets, workforce modeling, capital labor, cloud and infrastructure economics, and resource planning.
• Experience using modern AI tools to automate workflows and create executive briefings, with the judgment to validate AI-generated outputs.

Nice to have

• Experience in an Office of the CTO, Office of the CPO, or Central Technology Operations group at a major internet or enterprise technology company.
• Experience with cloud cost governance, labor capitalization, chargeback or showback models, automated metrics dashboards, AI-assisted tracking systems, or developer productivity measurement.
