Trans Right of Way Agent-Principal-Staff

Location: On site in New Albany, Ohio; travel within the AEP Transmission service territory is required.

Salary: $74,551–$151,132 per year, depending on the assigned level.

What you will do

• Negotiate with landowners and acquire land rights for electric transmission and distribution construction, reconstruction, maintenance, and removal.
• Settle property damage claims, research ownership records, and review surveys, appraisals, legal descriptions, and related documents.
• Prepare acquisition documents, maintain property files and maps, and update right-of-way information in ROWSi and other land management databases.
• Develop and manage right-of-way project scopes, estimates, schedules, budgets, milestones, reporting, and closeout activities.
• Coordinate and oversee vendors, review project costs and performance, and recommend process improvements.
• Support condemnation and court actions, internal process improvement initiatives, and safety accountability across employees and contractors.

Requirements

• Relevant education and experience in real estate, business, engineering, project management, law, or electric transmission and distribution right-of-way activities; requirements vary by level.
• Principal-level candidates generally need 5–7 or more years of relevant experience, including right-of-way acquisition or real estate experience; staff-level candidates generally need 8–10 years of related experience.
• Professional certifications such as IR/WA, SR/WA, or PMP are accepted or encouraged.
• Strong written, presentation, organizational, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and right-of-way or land management databases such as geoAMPS.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to work outside normal business hours and travel as project schedules require.
