Salary: $84,000–$126,000 annually, plus potential annual or quarterly performance bonuses and other compensation.

What you will do

  • Identify fleet safety risks and conduct training sessions for drivers on safe operating practices.
  • Supervise, motivate, and develop associates and leaders while monitoring safety performance and accountability.
  • Manage accident and injury reporting, investigations, analysis, and follow-up actions.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA requirements and transportation safety standards.
  • Develop and implement business plans supporting production, quality, and safety goals.
  • Forecast staffing and workload, analyze business reports, and resolve concerns involving associates, customers, and suppliers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in occupational safety management, environmental science, traffic safety, transit safety, or a related field plus 2 years of safety experience in supply chain, retail, or a related area; alternatively, 4 years of traffic safety experience in a related environment.
  • Two years of experience with continuous improvement methodologies in supply chain or transportation maintenance environments.
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, and safety rules related to materials transportation, including DOT, FMCSA, PHMSA, CVSA, and state regulations.
  • Working knowledge of vehicle maintenance, hazardous-materials bills of lading, safety procedures, and transportation paperwork.
  • Ability to communicate with customers, suppliers, and associates regarding tractor and trailer safety operations.
  • Ability to work at the Valdosta, Georgia, United States location.

Nice to have

  • Safety certifications such as Associate Safety Professional, Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist, or related transportation and safety credentials.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
